2006-08-16 [Yuriona]: *grins* I saw Phantom of the Opera 6 times while it was being performed at the Pantages Theatre in Toronto but then it got shut down because Livent, the company presenting it was nailed for fraud. *sighs* Oh well, I also got to see Tommy, Mamma Mia, The Lion King and Showboat. Plus my mom and I are going to the Stratford Festival to see Colm Feore performing in a Shakespearean play (I just can't remember the name of it at the moment)!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE

2006-08-16 [Yuriona]: I saw it the year it opened in Toronto... I was only in grade 9! XD I love the theatre. I've seen Colm Feore perform in Richard III at Stratford plus I've seen Hamlet twice, Twelfth Night, Merchant of Venice, Antony & Cleopatra, Cyrano de Bergerac and Waiting for Godot. Those are the ones I remember anyways. ^_^ Oh yeah, I've seen Wingfield Farm at the Grand Theatre in London too but that was ages ago.

2006-08-16 [Cia_mar]: i went to a star trek convention and got to do that with the make up people and actors from deep space nine.. out af all the silly questions that people had the gall to ask ...(when quark dies will rom get the bar?...um i have my resume and portfolio here would you be willing to look at it?...) i actually was complimented for my question.... " Considering how much prosthetics are used for the ferengi costume, do you find it dificult to emote?".... *giggles* they actually fought over who would take my question!
2006-08-16 [Yuriona]: O_O Dude... didn't the twit know that Rom is like the Grand Negus now and has no interest in the bar?? Uh... I mean... I wouldn't know about stuff like that... ^_^' That is a pretty cool question though. I remember seein a short interview with the fellow that played Garek (I love that tailor!) who talked about how long it took to get the prosthetics on, how it gave him a rash and how he was always worried that his acting wasn't coming through the makeup.
2006-08-16 [Cia_mar]: yeah! i know... but i think that rom got the negus job after the convention... but still i think back on that and i have to say that Max (Rom) was so cool... he actually shook my hand and talked with me for a bit afterwards and i gave him a pic that i sketched while i was there... he loved it!... i also got to meet Nana Visitor (kira) and siddig el fadil (well alexander siddig is what he now calls himself... bashir) sid was up in one of the hotel rooms signing autograpgs... he is so limber.. he sat behind a desk on a chair with his feet on the edge of the chair and legs folded between the desk and his chest!!!! and he just signed and signed and signed autographs without changing positions!!!!!

2006-08-16 [Cia_mar]: i LOVE DS9... iw was my fav aside from my first love... the original series... lol.. i used to get up at midnight after my mom went to work to watch the re runs on channel 11! stewart is awesome too!... i got to meet nana, and when i did she was sitting next to a gal from babylon 5... i gave nana a pic i did of her and her son buster both as bajorans, she was all "look she did a picture of me and my son! " she jumped up and ran oround the table and gave me a hug.. i was in heaven! i also asked her if she liked chocolate and peanut butter and then gave her a home made peanut butter cup! she was so happy she said she was starving cuz she hadn't yet had a chance to eat... then hours later as i was walking in the halls of the lobby i saw her and i said hi to her and she said Hi Jen!... i was so extatic cus i was told that she had a bad memory for names! lol

2006-08-17 [Perplexity]: I think the judges had a nigh impossible task with this bunch, but what a great start to the EVE Tournaments. I hope those that are not going into Round 2 will still have fun in the Gambler's den (and keep Yuriona busy! lol) - keep an eye out for the new lottery that will be in place next round - and that you will consider returning to battle in Tournament 2!

2006-08-17 [Evilmonk]: Every contestant should be looking at this as a lesson and ignore the non advancement. There should be a LOT of congratulating going on. Why isn't there? Is that really how it is? Do some folks only feel it nessessary to honor their opponent when they win? If you did not advance, you have to take a step back and say to yourself: "What can I do better? Maybe I could try something different? Maybe I could have been a little cleaner, or really thought a bit more on it." So next time you go into it you are a little better than before. USE THIS to better yourself as a person and an artist. To those that really honestly feel you got robbed, I dunno what to tell you. As the owner I feel the judges did an extremely hard thing but in the end I back their decisions...al

2006-08-18 [Evilmonk]: It is very disheartening to see that we have some sore losers. Apparently the wrong impression was given and they thought this would be a cakewalk and now are upset because they did not win. I am not going to name names but you know who you are and I think its sad. I appreciate all the comments we have gotten from graceful winners, but the lack of congrats to them just makes my stomach turn. Some folks are going to be like that though. They won't get anywhere with the attitude of a spoiled child, they just will not be asked or allowed back into future contests. Some of you...just some of you- not all...really are losers. Lets not let it spoil the rest of a great contest though gang. Leave the rubbish for the trash man and move on. =)

2006-08-18 [Evilmonk]: I'm sorry bro. It really gets me sometimes. All you have to do is say "good luck everyone, great job", but its like thats too hard for some people, and that is not the element I want in here. And whats worse is me hinting at it and they still don't show up to wish everyone well. All this fake humbleness before the contest, all the while thinking they have it in the bag...makes me ill, and I'm not the type whos gonna hide from addressing the issue of their being that pathetic. Now I know that it isn't everyone that didn't advance pulling that. But I definitly know of 2. So, anyways lets just move forward. They won't be asked to come back for the next one, and then they can surf ET for people that will kiss thier asses and tell em their great, and stroke their ego for them. Nuff said.

2006-08-18 [Evilmonk]: I dunno. I guess so. But enough of that. I'm not going to let the negativity bring down the mood in here. We are here to have fun and some of can accept the fact that there is always something to learn, no matter how good we think we might be. Lets have some good positive feelings in here and show ET what good sportsmanship and positive really means. For my part I'm now regretting that it even got to me that bad and I apologize to everyone in here, about my 'boiling over' a little. I shouldn't let it get to me so much, and I am sorry.
2006-08-18 [TheRogue]: I think if anything, it's not a lack of courtesy so much as it may be that this is the biggest and the best of the best competition ever done in ET.. everyone wants to win, everyone wants the braggin rights, and they have to get over the deep disappointment that follows putting in what you consider your 'all' for this competition, and then losing to someone else. Sometimes they don't feel like the other person worked nearly as hard or thought out their piece as much as they did for theirs, and think that they should have had a better chance at it. I don't know.. I know out of all the competitions I've ever entered, this one actually means more to me than the others.. Not that I need or require bragging rights, but just the push you give to draw outside the 'comfort zone' is inspiring me enough to pull new things out of my very unused and abused repotoire (sp?) I know I can lose here, because the players are all heavy hitters who whether they think so or not, could totally eradicate if they stopped thinking of me as anything more than just another artist. It is hard to disconnect your emotions from your art, and sometimes it bleeds outward and things get said, during that time when you haven't seen the bigger picture, or calmed down from the disappointment

I know [Cia_mar] can run circles around me when it comes to drawing.It is my biggest handicap but I bit the bullet and tried anyway. Trying...doing your best and having a good time with friends. What's better than that?

2006-08-18 [Evilmonk]: AMEN. All the real intention was is to get our talent pool drawing. Inspire some ideas, and above all make it fun. Marc is right. Its hard to lose but I just can't seperate myself from my perspective and that is that NO-ONE lost. Anyone who thought this was going to be easy?...with the talent in here?...is kidding themselves. I just wanted to see what everyone could do if they were given the place and motivation to just explode. Like DBZ, as a metaphor. Just when you think someone can't get anymore powerful, BLAM!, they are destroying whole worlds! Marc is a great artist (sorry marc) but is he giving it everything he has. Is he respecting his adversary enough and throwing even the kitchen sink at them. Thats a question for him to answer. I can say this with certainty- my line is in the sand. No matter who it should be. I am going to do some art you have never seen from me before. My game has not peaked...as a matter of fact, I'm just getting started. Because no-one I face in here is underestimated by me. No-one will get anything less than my all.
2006-08-18 [iippo]: I agree with TheRogue, this is the best contest... And hopefully all here (participating and watching) will take a little of that EVE attitude to other wikis and sites. I can already imagine the term evolving, where people see an entry in a contest, and say "wow, that's so EVE!"
